Take part in one of the competition held throughout the year.Technical details: The course was opened in 1977 with 9 holes and today it has 18 holes a high quality competition course redesigned by the well know course architect Dave Thomas (creator of many prestigious courses such as San Roque and Brabazon, where the Ryder Cup was held at The Belfry). The maximum distance from the white tee competition markers is 5,169 metres, from the men’s yellow tees 4,872 metres. Ladies have a competition distance from the blue tees of 4,652 metres and on other days from the red tees of 4,320 metres.The Par of the course is 69 and is comprised of 6 Par 3’s, 9 Par 4’s and 3 Par 5’s.Golf Son Parc Menorca is special for many reasons. Offering a natural, relaxing and fascinating golfing experience. The course is as competitive as it is picturesque, the 18 hole surrounded by pine woods with a narrow flat layout. Difficulties can arise on windy days, on the new holes where there is a dog-leg, near the wide well defined greens and on the holes with a water feature. On one side of the course is bordered by an extensive wet area. Rocky bunkers, the lakes, the wild canes and the colony of Peacocks are some of the distinctive characteristics of the course. There are many strategically thought out obstacles and bunkers giving way to a very technical layout characterised by its undulating greens which offer a challenge not only to the beginner golfer but also the experts. Our golf professional Gustavo Flammia, is available throughout the week from Wednesday to Sunday, morning and evening, to meet the demand of new players and to help improve the swing of who have already approach the green. Lessons in general can be individual or for groups and we offer special courses for the Companies.Gustavo Flammia is an Italian-Argentinian golf pro.He is an architect and became golf teacher in 2005 and enrolled in the Spanish PGA. In October 2009 he has participated and earned his degree for the Certified Fitness Professional TPI1 course that the Spanish Federation organized during the golf trade fair in Madrid. Children which do not have a handicap by the Federation or his club should be accompanied by an adult who do have this, or it can be achieved with the help of our Pro Gustavo Flammia(Tato).The golf course and practice area are dangerous places for children and is the responsibility of parents or adults accompanying them, have them under control, even if they are near the clubhouse. Because we care about the kids we offer a special price depending on ages and the hire of equipment is also quite cheap to encourage the family to play together.Furthermore, the proshop has also got equipment for children to sell and for rent clubs are available for kids from 5 years.The Academy runs courses for children during the school period which is mid September to end of June every Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9.30 am to 13.30 pm and the cost per child is 25 € per month.During holiday period taylor made lessons for kids are also available.Golf Son Parc Menorca is situated in the Urbanisation of Son Parc, a tourist area on the north coast of the island, a few kilometres from the beach of Arenal de Son Saura. Son Parc belongs to the municipality of Mercadal, where the highest point of the island can be found, the mountain of Monte Toro, from this point you can see impressive views of the whole island. Here also there is an Augustine Monastery home to a group of nuns from the same order. There is also a shop where souvenirs can be bought as well a Bar/Restaurant.
